... the other Black experience

TLC 'No Scrubs' writers finally credited for Ed Sheeran's 'Shape Of You'

“No Scrubs“ songwriting duo Kandi Burruss and Tameka Cottle (aka Tiny Harris) grabbed two new credits for their contributions to Ed Sheeren’s hit "Shape Of You". In response, the Real Housewife of Atlanta thanked Sheeren on Instagram for letting her and Cottle "share in the success" of "Shape Of You".

Sheeren didn’t explicitly say how the credits were earned, but ‘Shape Of You’ is just one of several of Sheeren’s songs to draw immediate comparison to other classic tunes, in this case, TLC’s “No Scrubs”. Previously, fans and critics noted similarities between Sheeren’s “Thinking Out Loud” and Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On”. Here's to crediting black artists for the work you're "inspired" by.
