The Phunk Hits 2018 Summer Concerto Tour adds two shows in Washington DC for The GroovaLottos and The ZYG 808 on July 6 and July 7.
This coming Weekend, The GroovaLottos will be playing two shows in Washington DC as a part of their The Phunk Hits 2018 summer concert tour.
July 6th the band will perform a live on the air concert on WPFW 89.3's "LIVE @ FIVE". Tune in at 5 PM to hear this Grammy nominated band do their thing.
July 7th, "The Dennis Banks Tribute Celebration" 4-9 PM at the Plymouth United Church of Christ 5301 North Capitol St., N. W., Washington, D. C. 20011. Festivities will include a concert and art auction honoring the co-founder of the American Indian Movement. The GroovaLottos and The ZYG 808 will be the featured performers.
With members heralding from the Mashpee Wampanoag, Louisiana Choctaw and Eastern Cherokee communities, The GroovaLottos first played Washington DC in 2014 when they were selected as the inaugural band for the first gathering of the National Congress of Black American Indians. This was the beginning of the band's gaining a reputation throughout Indian Country, going on to open the Gathering Of Nations Powwow in 2017.
