... the other Black experience

Queer musicians from around world release Rainbow Riots album to resist homophobia

Largely with the help of colonial globalization of patriarchal European standards, queer and transantagonism is an unfortunate staple of most of the world. Swedish music producer Petter Wallenberg from The House of Wallenberg hopes to use his talents, and the talents of queer people around the world, to change this. Wallenberg is behind The Rainbow Riots album, described as "a protest musical repertoire that features queer artists from all over the world." The album includes avant-garde artists Umlilo and Stash Crew (South Africa), dance-hall artist Mista Majah P (Jamaica), Brayo Bryans (Uganda) and Ivy B (Malawi).

"The album is part of an international project that aims to highlight the atrocities experienced by the LGBTIAQ community all over the world in their fight for equal rights," Wallenberg states.
