NEW MUSIC: Alt-soul diva Jungle Leez brings worlds together on 'SUPANOVA' #SoundCheck

Born in Cameroon and raised in London, alt soul diva Jungle Leez's latest album SUPANOVA marries disparate worlds. Songs blend elements of R&B and neo soul with dubstep (“Top Of The World”), reggae (“Revolution”), and French chanson (“Envol”). Jungle Leez and producer Profetesa Beats give each song a unique sound and flavor, but Jungle Leez's unique voice ties it all together. Though the album teases mutated samples and forward-looking synths, it's the songs where Jungle Leez looks back to that past where she tends to shine brightest. The classic ballads “Something Beautiful” and “Envol” bring out a deep expressiveness in her voice, while “Revolution” draws on Ini Kamoze's classic “World A Music” for a statement of worldwide solidarity.
