Ugandan-born, London-based designer Lamuna Anderson- of Lamuna Nassuna- adds a new voice to empowerment. Straying from the mainstream, her latest collection is a complete celebration of the black woman and all of her assets. As she takes inspiration from 'the Afro and Black women protective hair styles', she combines kinky weaves and hair extensions (yes, HAIR) to create;ingenious, chic and wearable garments. Besides the sheer innovativeness of Anderson's project, she embraces black beauty to the highest extent; and while embracing and translating the necessity of the Afro, she succeeds in redefining -arguably- one of Black women's biggest insecurities. A stunning portrayal of empowerment, Anderson's collection detangles the restrictions of Black hair and provides ample space for self-appreciation. Check it out below.
