So I was doing my usual stalking of the Joshua Heller (someone I don't know but linked through Current.com and have found myself rather intrigued by) when I stumbled upon this gem and all-around amazing-ness that he hath shared.
I have no clue who she is except that she's obviously foreign, has an awesome baby voice, and that she's doing a show the 19th of February at… Continue

Okay. I've just had my life turned upside down by an impending divorce, a loss of my apartment, loss of security, and looming financial destitution and disillusionment. And, shit, I've been fucked up over this for months and trying to piece of the marriage together for years. And now, I'm torned-apart, but I'm still somewhat sane. My self-esteem is cracked and my self-confidence is shaky. I'm frazzled, living from one counseling session to another. My soon-to-be ex-wife isn't living in now-my… Continue

So, I work in a micro-brewery/pool hall/resturant... and I have noticed a trend, that has me questioning, how far we have come as a people in the past 50+ years... Tonight at work, I worked the pool room, and in the pool room, there are 10 tables, that stretches a good 30 yards, maybe a bit more, from the front to the back. ITs HUGE!!!! 10 tables, 20 chairs, and a shit ton of people who likes to play pool, and get drunk. I do not mind serving people, and I dont mind serving assholes, thats a… Continue
Wow...There is a REAL movement going on with this Afro Punk thing! Glad to see this. I was checking out the blog photos from the 2008 Afro Punk Festival and that looks exciting! 7 days of Afro Punk music??? Wow. I wish they were this open down here in the southeast.
Back in the day I was a part of the first wave of black rock as a guitarist (circa 1989-2006), and it was thrilling to have been a part of that, when the southeast was a lot more open to black and multi-cultural bands… Continue

A student at the University of Washington answered a bonus question on his mid-term test that had profound implications for Barack Obama's Presidential Inauguration. The question was "Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?"
As we're gearing up for the 2009 Afro-Punk Festival, it's time for a little throwback to reminisce about all the fun we had at the 2008 Festival. And to those of you who were there, please share your memories with us! For its 4th edition, the Afro-Punk Festival was bigger than ever. 7 days, over 40 bands, a skate park, BMX demos, live painting by graffiti artists, and most importantly, you, the Community, who came by the thousands to join this celebration of creativity…
Yes it is for real, not a joke. (I saw it on the news I swear!). Any way In honor of our down under friends I want to share with you all one of our members from down under, Damen Samuel
Exhibiting chilling haunting vocals reminiscent of Antony of Antony and the Johnson's Damen Crafts a tapestry of musically mood wrenching mellow folk muisc. Its a kaleidoscope of emotion that just get me deep down in my widdle bits, down in the… Continue
