AFROPUNK

... the other Black experience

Today, when I was getting off of work, I was thinking about why I have been so awkward and shy around people. Then, I started thinking about how some people have to drink to get rid of their social ineptitude, to try and forget about past traumas and stresses, and to spill out honesty. This was brought on by the song "Chandelier" playing on the radio. The song is about a woman who drinks as a way to forget and repress her problems and her anxiety while at a party. Because of this, she is being known mistakenly as the party girl.

Seeing as how some of us are here because we aren't the type to abuse or even use the kind of drugs that will kill us, I have to ask the question: has any of us noticed or resented the feeling of loneliness or anxiety that can come with being sober?
